«Могут ли гражданские инициативы изменить город?» — такой вопрос был предложен в этом году Лабораторией градостроительных исследований для ежегодной открытой дискуссии, традиционно проводимой в рамках программы Фестиваля науки в целях организации многосторонней и открытой полемики по актуальным проблемам современного градостроительства и генерации новых идей для их решения. Дискуссия состоялась в МАРХИ 12 октября и собрала более 70 участников: студентов и преподавателей МАРХИ, ВШЭ, АНХ, МГУ, МАРШ,«Шанинки» и других вузов, представителей общественных движений и гражданских активистов, градостроителей и архитекторов из Москвы и других городов. Труд быть ведущими экспертами в обсуждении этой весьма непростой темы взяли на себя Рустам Рахматуллин, координатор общественного движения«Архнадзор», Ольга Вендина, ведущий научный сотрудник Института географии РАН, Александр Антонов, координатор Некоммерческого партнёрства«Объединение планировщиков» и Дарья Мелиссина, организатор Марафона городских действий«Делай Сам». Участниками были приведены разнообразные примеры общественных инициатив горожан, преследующих различные цели и принимающих разные формы. Действия жителей оказываются уже не только созидательными или протестными(такими, например, как приведение в порядок парка, сохранение, подчас с риском для собственной жизни, архитектурных и исторических памятников, несогласие с предложениями планировщиков на публичных слушаниях), но и радикальными(демонтаж установленного забора), или провокационными(самочинное рисование пешеходного перехода там, где, по мнению художников, он должен был бы быть). Публикуем статью написанную его учеником — Владимиром Александровым, по следам событий 1983 года, когда группа советских ученых была приглашена вместе со своими американскими коллегами выступить в сенате США и официально засвидетельствовать прогнозы о климатических и других глобальных последствиях ядерной войны.Никогда — ни до, ни после этих событий, российских ученых не приглашали давать официальные показания в высшем законодательном органе США.
